How do I make a reservation?  Reservations can be made through our website, by phone, or by email.  The office at Alpine Air Alaska is open daily.
In order to make a reservation we will need the following information:

First and last name for the party
Number of people in the party
What tour you'd like to go on
What time you'd like to go
Contact number for your party for the day of your flight
Credit card number
Expiration date
3-digit code
Billing address
Weights for each member of your party

What is the best time of day for the flight I’d like to do?
There is no best time of the day for any tour any day of the year.  Our weather changes often and frequently and unfortunately Mother Nature doesn’t let us know about it until right before she implements the changes.  The best thing that you can do is leave some flexibility in your schedule.  Schedule the time that works best within your trip and leave room for a back up time/date so that way we can get you the best tour possible.

When should you make a reservation?  It depends.  The safest answer is as soon as you know what date and time you’d like to go.  However, you can make reservations up until the day you’d like to go or walk in if you’re driving by.  If you have a tight schedule, make your reservation as soon as you can. If you have more flexibility in your schedule, make your reservations before flying to Alaska.

What is Alpine Air Alaska’s cancellation policy?  Cancelations are accepted with no penalty up to 7 days prior to your tour. If you have to cancel within that 7 day period, 50% of your tour is payable.  However, that 50% that became non-refundable can be applied to future flights, space permitting.  If you cancel on the day of your tour, 100% will be charged.  If we have to cancel your flight due to weather we will not charge you a dime.  Weather cancellations are at the discretion of Alpine Air Alaska’s staff. Be aware that we are able to conduct tours when it is raining. Flights are cancelled for safety considerations.

Will my cell phone work while I am in Alaska?   AT&T is a large provider in Alaska as well as a Verizon affiliate so those two companies should have good coverage (please keep in mind good coverage to Alaskans means you’ll have reception more often than not, but know that coverage is not continuous)  Sprint and TracFone also work well. Other national networks may only work in large cities.

Do you offer Dogsledding in the winter?  Our Summer Glacier Dog Sledding runs from May 15th to August 31th.  We can not operate any sooner or later due to weather constraints.

How much time is spent on the glacier for dog sledding?  Our Summer Glacier Dog Sledding Tour takes approximately 2 ½ hours from the time you arrive at our hangar until the time you are ready to leave our hangar.  It is approximately a 15 minute helicopter ride round trip to and from the glacier. While it is a short flight, it is a very scenic flight.  If you would like more flying time please look into our flight seeing options.  Once you are on the glacier you will be there for about an hour and a half.  That time on the glacier will be spent meeting approximately 60 dogs and playing with the puppies, talking with the mushers, and of course going on a dog sled ride.  Your dog sled ride tours the glacier and can be from 20 to 30 minutes at the discretion of the mushers.

What are your Summer Glacier Dog Sledding times?  Our Summer Glacier Dog Sledding times are: 8:30am, 10:15am, 12:00pm, 1:45pm, 3:30pm, and 5:15pm.  You will need to be at our hangar 30 minutes prior to your excursion so that we can prepare you for the glacier and give you a safety briefing on the helicopter.

Can we combine the Summer Glacier Dog Sledding with a Flightseeing tour? Absolutely! We call this our Ultimate Summer Tour and many of our guests have booked this option. You get to experience the beauty of flightseeing, and the exciting adventure of dog sledding. Our flightseeing and dog sledding tour times fit perfect together. Therefore, you decide which tour you would like first, and let us take care of the rest. Please see our, Ultimate Summer Tour page. For combination tours, it is best to call us so we can review the schedule options.

This includes the Alyeska Hotel, any of Girdwood's charming B&B's, the Railway station, and various other locations .  If you're coming from Anchorage, renting a car is always best because there is so much in the area to see. Another option is taking a cab or other transportation service, or even the train.
