Media Flies with Alpine to APU s Thomas Training Center on Eagle Glacier

Alpine Air Alaska - Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Every summer, Alaska Pacific University opens its Thomas Glacier Training Center on Eagle Glacier for nordic ski team training. The University’s nordic teams, the Masters Nordic skiers, the U.S. Women’s and Men’s professional teams all take their week turn at training on snow at an elevation of 5,000 feet. Alpine Air Alaska is proud to provide helicopter flight services to the athletes as well as supplies to the Thomas Training Center. This July, a variety of media outlets traveled to Eagle Glacier through Alpine Air to document the special training facility, celebrate the special location, professional staff, and elite athletes. Media included local television stations KTUU, KTVA, APRN, as well as The Anchorage Press, Alaska Dispatch, Alaska Magazine, and Your AK Link.
