In February, Alpine Air Alaska hosted 200 professionals from Visit Anchorage for a Business Exchange at Alyeska Helicopters, our flight school and maintenance facility on Merrill Field. The Business Exchange offered us an opportunity to showcase our hangar and newest aircraft, the Robinson R-66, to many of our best tourism customers.

Turnout for this event was bigger than anyone could have anticipated and the sign-up list for helicopter flights around downtown Anchorage quickly filled up. Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz and State Senator Lesil McGuire kicked off the event catching the first flight. For many of the evening’s guests, this was a rare treat to fly in the helicopters they are frequently booking for their customers’ tours.

Our friends at Hage Photo made this sweet video of the flight, which you can check out on their Facebook page here.
The star of the event was two-time Iditarod Champion Mitch Seavey who took time out of his busy Iditarod countdown week to share some laughs and experience with guests. Alpine Air Alaska partners with the Seaveys for our Summer Glacier Dog Sledding tour on Punchbowl Glacier and we were thrilled to feature Mitch and his wife Janine at our Business Exchange. Mitch also brought his sled and racing bibs as props for the Iditarod themed photo booth which captured the fun being had by all.

The Alpine Air Alaska and Alyeska Helicopters family would like to thank everyone who came out to help make our Business Exchange a big success!
